Mike Daniels Come on Airfix. Keep an eye on the competition. And how about a 1:48 Sea Hawk ? Javelin ? TSR2 ?
23. January 2018 at 09:36:00
Augie A re-release of the javelin, tsr2 they did, would be great. not so sure on the seahawk as theres already one :), how about a twin pioneer or argosy instead?

Vasko Zugel Trumpeter and any other brand don't care and have nothing to do with profits of the next brand's kit, in this case Airfix... it's strictly commercial POV and not unusual at all. Latest example is Tamiya Bf109G... Original, it is not, I agree
08. March 2018 at 12:53:28
Sören Reifert Besides the fact that the Tamiya Bf 109G main group aren't the modellers in Europe.
The main market for this kit is their home market in Japan, because Eduard kits are quite expensive their.
08. March 2018 at 13:32:15
Vasko Zugel Agree. There are many similar instances with same kits regardless ... remember the AMK/Kinetic Kfirs or AMK/ HobbyBoss MiG-31 coming out the same year ... and the KittyHawk/HobbyBoss Su-17

Gluefinger >> The main market for this kit is their home market in Japan
The main market for ANY kit produced the big Japanese kit makers is their home market. Exports for them are a negligible quantity. That's why they do not invest a lot of time and energy in finding local distributors in Europe and end up with a bunch of business partners who aren't really interested in pushing their products, but are happy selling small quantities of overpriced items (Faller, Dickie, ...).

Clifford Keesler I hate that the kits from Japan and China are so expensive here in the U.S. I have yet to see this new Sea Vixen anywhere in the U.S. I think the new Airfix Sea Fury is now available. Not many U.S. kit manafactures anymore. And Revell USA. has discontinued most of their kits.
09. April 2018 at 00:21:44
Glenn . It's the same here in Australia. The kits from china are now more expensive than stuff from japan around $90-$100 Aud for a 1/72 Trumpeter Su-34 thats too much, Even their Su-24's were around $80 each. Lucky i picked up a couple at a swap n sell on the weekend for $40 each! I think it's the local importers charging too much? That's why i try and buy most of my stuff directly from the country it comes from and ship it directly to myself still works out cheaper than the local shops most of the time! I wait a while now for most new releases sometimes even get them on sale! Hell it's not like i haven't got anything to build! :)
