The hobby boss kit fits together ok.... it just has some rather brutal shape issues.
and given its more expensive than the revell offering which from what I have seen shape wise is spot on..

Mats Bengtsson Ah, Ok. It seems as a lot of the Hobby boss kits have shape issues. Anyway, I have both the Hobby boss (I got it for 20 €) and Revell Tornado and the Revell looks like the nicest. Looking forward to see you build this one.
Clifford Keesler Thanks, that is a good idea. I was just going through my E-mails and Hobbylinc had sent me an E-mail that they now have that very kit in stock.
12. October 2014, 20:33
Joseph Johnson Yea take a look at it see what you think. I might have to get that as well eventually lol but one kit at a time I cant afford to build up a large stash of kits. like I used to be able to do before the recssion ruined everything.
12. October 2014, 20:54
Clifford Keesler I have the biggest stash I have ever had. But that keeps me from buying all that neat stuff you find on sale or on E-Bay, the first thing out of my wife's mouth is "you have a closet full of stuff you haven't even built yet". But she is pretty good about aftrer market stuff for what I already have. Evey now ans then I can talk her into one, or beg it out of the kids. LOL.
12. October 2014, 23:15
Joseph Johnson lol I hear you well myself I im not married or have any kids so I have quite a bit of free time on my hands these days except for work and home and until I can afford my own place againe I don't bother with dating lol
13. October 2014, 02:06
Guus @Joseph and Clifford, please be careful with the decal version you mention. The picture on the Hobbylinc site is an older publicity shot for this kit, the same picture was used on the Revell Germany website before the boxart became available.
13. October 2014, 10:54
Joseph Johnson that would not surprise me. for me personally I love the decals that came with mine but the one thing Im really curious about is the American stars and stripes decals that will go on the bottom of the stabilizers have not been able to find any info on that as to why it is on a German aircraft but I do like it.
Joseph Johnson ok that shines some light so in other words its like a joint base or attack setup the Germans provide the aircraft our munitions support squadrons stationed there provides the weapons it think that sounds about right from what I gathered.
Zeljko s I will probably skip interior, but I will look for exterior and undercarriage. And maybe wheels.

Kevin Farrell I buy a ZOOM set for every kit I buy. ZOOM, Bang seat and paint masks. The ZOOM kit and a seat with molded-in or PE harnesses are all I need. And the fact is: that's all you can see! Doubling the cost of the aircraft kit with the purchase of a full-resin 'pit kit seems a bit daft. You do all the intricate and beautiful work --then bury 60% of it in the the fuselage!
Clifford Keesler It's our slang for ejection seats. Kevin got me started on that also Zoom set and seat for every kit,if I can get it. I use the Hasegawa zoom sets on my Revell F-4s, but have to use the kit seats as the bottom of the seat is part of the cockpit tub.

Kevin Farrell Edgars, don't believe everything (or anything??) that Skip tells you. Neither one of us have any money so we have to find economical ways to enhance the realism. I enjoy putting the painted PE under a strong magnifier and they are almost like looking at a photo of an actual instrument panel! Since they are using lasers - they can go as small as they want - ALMOST!! And the BANG seats are called that because of all the explosions that take place simultaneously during an eject. Blown canopies, rockets igniting . . .BANG!!
29. September 2014, 04:14
Edgars Bizūns Kevin, thanks for explanation But I will keep up on my methods - do myself or don't do
29. September 2014, 10:37
Kevin Farrell And Skip is a wise man and an excellent builder. You CAN believe in what he has to say. Just don't listen to ME, I should have said!
Udo Teuteberg I hope the aftermarket will be realeased some cool decal sheets for all German Wings.
18. May 2014, 16:22
Stephan Ryll I'll try to build the 44 + 80 from Jabo G 31
Decals should be available by Paddinghouse
But it will take some time.... To build it
other projects have priority ... Summer is near
18. May 2014, 18:02
Udo Teuteberg Hi Stephan, a good choice. Air Base is roud about only 5 Km`s from my Hometown. Pad Decals, I know them, but I don´t like it, I will wait for another company who released one.
19. May 2014, 06:21
Stephan Ryll Hello Udo,
the base is also not far from me
I don't know those decals.... I read about some difficults today.... may I will also look for another vendor....
Any idea who is doing german Tornado Decals in 1:48?
19. May 2014, 15:26
Marcus J HaHen is a manufacturer of Decals for airplanes. His Tornado decals will be adapted to the Revell Tornado. This will take some time, so you have to wait and stay tuned.
19. May 2014, 17:39
Stephan Ryll Thank's Marcus,
that sounds fine to me...
Hope that there will be some markings for Jabo G 31
19. May 2014, 20:04
Udo Teuteberg Or we buy two or three kits more and build first a Italian one, or an early RAF Bird.
19. May 2014, 21:57
Stephan Ryll That would be a nice idea.... but the cave is already full at the moment
20. May 2014, 18:05
Udo Teuteberg Ich kenne das, wohin mit den ganzen Kits. Eventuell könnte man sich ja mal treffen, scheint hier in der Gegend kaum Modellbauer zu geben. Gruß, Udo.
21. May 2014, 08:47
Stephan Ryll Jo könnte man machen, der Sommer hat ja gerade erst anfangen
21. May 2014, 16:37
Udo Teuteberg I`m a little bit disappointed about the one and only decal option. No regular aircraft, only a celebration scheme, boring. That is what we called a "Kirmes Lackierung" but the plastic is fantastic.
Udo Teuteberg Moin Dirk! HaHen war mir schon klar, aber Marine hat bei mir zur Zeit keine Prio und ich wollte lieber eine im grünen Kleidchen. Gibt es jedenfalls irgendwo einen kompletten Satz Stenciles? Gruß, Udo.
19. May 2014, 06:24
Marcus J Udo, HaHen wird seine Decals nach meiner Info auf den aktuellen Tornado anpassen. Nur Geduld..
19. May 2014, 14:29
Dirk Heyer Can anyone drop me a note about the quality and handling of HaHen Decals pls?
19. May 2014, 14:48
Dirk Heyer I stopped my IDS Tornado Project till release date
Mates, this Harvest will be the right time to built a Tornado!!!
14. January 2013, 12:17
Philip De Keyser Can't wait to see the relais of this beauty, this one is going on my wishlist
14. January 2013, 12:23
Dirk Heyer Philip, if it is the scale down 1:32 kit it will be amazing!
14. January 2013, 12:31
Holger Kranich And when its an upscaled 1:72 kit, it will be amazing, too!
