Holger Kranich Hi Paul! I just saw that you are a former A-6 Pilot. Can you confirm this kit as a good one if you want to depict a Tram Trude?

Paul Moore Holger - just finishing up the build. I would say it's a good kit at the 1/72 level. No positionable flight controls however. The TRAM is extended as if being used. I suppose you could trim it down to a retracted position. The wing fold is done very nicely which is a great option. Ordnance is limited. 2 HARM & 8 Rockeye (no MK 82, 83 or 84's in the kit). I used PrintScale "Intruders of Desert Storm" decals which just happened to have one of the planes I flew in DS so that was cool. I used Eduard GBU-10 (MK 84 LGB's) for my model. I've been watching some videos on painting and I'd have to say I nailed the A-6 various paint markings. The old Intruder looked pretty sorry overhead the ship from up close in a turn. The corrosion work and painting as well as the leaking hydraulic fluid always gave it a well worn look.
But by golly the old gal was a superb war horse! With a proper paint job, this has turned into a very authentic Intruder. Does that answer your question Holger? Let me know if I can help with anything.

Holger Kranich Good morning and thank you very much for your wisdom and knowledge about the kit and the Trude.
Yes, this answers my question! I have the same kit in a Revell box at home . And some Fujimis in the stash. My first build was a Monogram A-6B in 1:48 after i watched and read "Flight of the Intruder".
Have you made some pix of your build? Would be marvellous to see ´em. I love the A-6 since my childhood, especially when its fitted with a Shrike.
Please let me know if i can help you with anything. I hope i can be helpful for you after being fresh into the new modelling scene. There are a lot of new techniques. Hang in there mate!
And I second you posting some pics of your build sir!

Paul Moore I tried really hard to add photos to this Scalemates "project". Unsuccessfully! Anyway, maybe some kind soul will help me figure out how to do it. This has been more frustrating than rigging a biplane. ????
