Bill Gilman I just got the Aires resin cockpit and seat, they are also very nice! I'll have a look at the PE too - that's the trouble with all the aftermarket stuff today, it's so good you can't stop using it!

Guido Haesevoets I have this one already for quite some time now. It's a nice kit indeed, but as I want to build the French Djibouti version of it, I'll need more practising with aircraft models before I'll start it (weathering, alclad variations on the engine area etc). I never considered buying aftermarket stuff for it, but maybe I'll investigate now...
I'll wait for you guys to get start, to pick up some ideas along the way.

Duncan Cook I get the kit with PE parts for only 10 Euros at the Modellbaustammtisch Hamburg. Ussualy I don't buy aftermarket stuff too.

Bill Gilman The heat effects on the rear fuselage of the F-100 are well documented around the web. There are lots of different ways to achieve the right "look" - I have seen some very effective examples with Alclad.
I thought about getting the new Trumpeter 1:72 F-100, but they did the intake wrong. Another one of the big mistakes that they seem to put in each kit!

Guido Haesevoets As Renaissance has a correction nose in resin for the Trumpeter kit, I started at one point wondering if the Italeri would suffer from the same. I read between your lines Bill, that the Italeri nose however is correct.
And indeed, I've read already some stuff on the rear fuselage both in print and on the web.
- Does the PE set also improves the seat?
- Is there a resin replacement seat available from another source?

Duncan Cook the PE set includes parts for the Instrumentpanel and the Seat.
I think somwhere is also a resin seat aviable.
