Comments

The Junkman
The kit started life ca 1956 at ITC. Like most ITC kits, it was distributed in Germany by the Schaub-Lorenz "Progress" vacuum cleaner company, using their own boxes filled with imported contents.

It was produced unchanged by Kleeware in the late 50s, so by then the tooling must have been transferred to England.

Both the above issues were always moulded in various shades of green plastic and had transparent disc wheels with moulded in spokes and separate green plastic tyres.

Airfix retooled the wheels to be somewhat more realistic two piece spoke wheels with integral tyres and used white plastic throughout the production run.

These kits are exactly 1:10 scale. The rims are ca 46mm diameter, the real thing has 18" (457mm) rims.
The assembled model is 215mm long, the real thing is 2150mm long.
