Robin (WhiteGlint) For this figure of Black Swan, I am going to use the airbrush for a lot of painting steps, as her clothes and even her hair work with a lot of gradients.
Gradients seem so easy in theory but I guess I'll need a while to do the process right.
Now with other paint applied her skin tone doesn't seem right anymore, and I need to lighten it up again. Probably after I am done airbrushing. Layers of careful glazing should hopefully do the trick.
Michael Papay Nice... I have the action figure from kotobukiya, bought it 20 years ago. At first I thought your figure is one of them. But when there are 3D files I might build a second one like yours.

Robin (WhiteGlint) Thanks Michael! Managed to work a bit more on the base. I think it's almost done, though I'd like to add some empty ammo cases to the base.
Creating the sign was not so easy, especially given that I cannot read the language so I tried my best at kanji. I tried to recreate one of the signs that were visible in the movie.
It should read something like: "Dissolve the diet. Disband the secret police/special forces."
CaptGPF Agree with everyone - love the mashup, the weathered digital camo is very well executed!

Here too progress is slow. I am currently trying to make some tarps to give this diorama a bit more character but it's not working out nicely yet.
This needs more experimentation. In addition I was searching for more stuff to add. Maybe oil drums and other stuff. I am also considering figures.
CaptGPF My wife and I loved this show! I'm glad to see you tackling this piece and am watching with bated breath!

She's pretty much done but I still have a bit of work to do on the wooden base. I hope I can share the final images some day soon.
Robin (WhiteGlint) Thanks for tuning in, everyone. I hope I can do Fire Keeper justice. Dark Souls 3 was a great game and I enjoyed it a lot.
I am almost done with two other figure projects and might be able to focus on her next. While I already primed all parts I realized that more clean up is necessary. There are still remains from the supports on some parts that require my attention.
Made a little bit of progress. I applied the first decals and stencils and I have quite some more to go.
I also found my R-60 missile set and I hope to work on it soon to have them assembled and painted before I apply the next clear coats to seal in the decals.

Robin (WhiteGlint) Added some streaking as next step of weathering. I don't want to overdo it so I hope it not too dirty.
After everything has dried again I will apply more varnish to protect it all.
I found the Eduard R-60 and tried to assembly them but, as expected, I failed. Some of the resin fins fell to the ground and disappeared, which really sucks.
I kept the launch rails but will order a set of 3d printed R-60 from Reskit. From how the instuctions look like I only need to glue the seeker head onto the missile while all fins are already attached.
My last try to get some R-60 for this project. If I fail again, I will probably keep the MiG without any missiles and pylons.

Robin (WhiteGlint) And done! Should have spend a bit more time for a better clean up but it turned out quite okay.
There was a big drain hole in the front of one leg and I tried to fill it somehow but I suck at sculpting.
Robin (WhiteGlint) A little gift for my Baldur's Gate 3 player group. As we all love the owlbear cub so much I decided to gift both other players a little diorama each. This was a fun little project I did in just two days. You can count a third day for the printing/cleaning process but that is not me really doing anything.
I learned a lot of things with this project and had a real blast. The fit of the final version somehow is not perfect and I do have a few gaps though but all in all I am happy with the result. About this fit issues there probably are a few more things I can learn. Except for the first layer of grey on the ruins (walls and floor) everything is painted with a brush or a sponge. The wooden things like the kegs were completly drybrushed and I added details like the metal colour later with a brush.
Next year I should work on a third one for myself 😄

Robin (WhiteGlint) Getting my photo background ready seems to be more complicated than I thought but that's mainly my fault because I keep screwing things up.
Anyway, here are a few images of the finished diorama.
This project was a lot of fun but I seriously need to step up my diorama game. I hope to become much better and have dioramas that are much more detailed and also improve the quality of the finished models themselves. Sometimes I am a bit sloppy.
Looking forward to build more mecha kits and I hope Kotobukiya finally gives us the model kits for the new game, I am a bit hyped for them.
