With the 1:48 Thunderbolt done and dusted, I took my Yak-9 off the shelf of doom 🙂 my best work, but since I'm in a modelling mood these days, I try to put my current mojo to work 😉 I clear coated yesterday, started weathering the landing gear and just finished putting on the relatively few decals, that are actually used on this project. Let's hope I can keep up the pace 🤞

Not my best work by a long shot, but at least I half-assed this one across the finish line 😉 A really nice kit with great fit, nice details and easy construction, thanks to some solid engineering by ICM.

Wonderful Thunderbolt in a different but still very attractive camouflage scheme 👍

gorby, Neuling, Neil and Christoph; thank you very much for the kind comments, mates 👍
I have to agree, British/Commonwealth paint schemes make american planes much prettier 😜 All jokes aside, I really like to go with the more uncommon users of a type, than to replicate yet another "ace plane".... glad you like it!

Mr James
Looking mean and clean so far. I've not seen such and animal as this before. Is it a prototype?

It is indeed a prototype, hence the kit is a bit plain. I added some stuff from the spares box to make it into a believable "what if".

Those little details really make this look like at least a testing or even in-service vehicle. Curious to see the paintjob on this one 👍
As for the vehicle, it was quite an interesting attempt to "rationalize" vehicles in the 20t-class previously filled by Panzer III, IV-derived vehicles made in 1944. The tank variant was among the earlier ones to be dropped, as focus went towards the Jagdpanzer-variant of it mounting the 75mm L/70. This latter vehicle had a hull in construction when the whole Panzer III/IV was cancelled in late ´44 if I remember correctly. The running gear for this was tested on a Hornisse/Hummel (another vehicle technically combining Panzer III and Panzer IV elements)

Thank you and welcome on board Tom B! Yes it is an interesting vehicle indeed, especially if you have a weak spot for what ifs like I do 😉

Looks nice and interesting! Great model and impressive luggage. Kubelwagen is the most interesting vehicle for me, and I making one too at this time.
One little thing - maybe the license plates are too white?

Thanks mate, much appreciated! Concerning the licence plates: I finished this kit almost 7 years ago and I trust I have learned a thing or two since then 😉
