Thank you for the nice comments. This will be a open canopy build so I wanted to add details to the cockpit. The oil paint really add a lot to the build. I'm quite glad I started using them.

Weathering is almost done! Feels good to be back at the hobby. Our whole foamily got sick with the Rona around New Year eve. It was easy on the kids, but me & my wife got 3 hard day plus a week to get back at normal. Feels good to use a airbrush again!

The clipped wings were to improve roll rate at low altitudes, the extended ,as in this build, were for high altitude performance.

By the way, a beautiful rendition of this marque 👍🏻

It complete my Spitfire Tech tree (I now have the 3 mains version or the spit). My Mk XIV have clipped wings, this mk VII has HF wings and my Mk I is have the original wings.

As for the color, I have used the AK real color for this build with a bit of oil paint for weathering. I'm quite happy with the result.

Shite Glint, I can recommend the Eduard Kits (Weekend or Profipack). They have a lot of details. Although the ne Tamiya kit seem pretty nice too.

Don't forget about icm , which bang for buck are both accurate and very detailed. Probably up there with the eduard offerings, although more clean up. However does offer a merlin engine if you want to diorama it.
