Somalia Mig 21 Ogaden War
Eduard Mig 21MF built straight out of the box, depicting Somalia 226 as it would have appeared during the Ogaden war with Ethiopia. Its armed with Atoll 2 air to air missiles to provide escort for Mig 17s performing ground attack operations, 226 was lucky to survive the war as the Ethiopian F-5s were superior shooting down 12 Mig 21s. Although it survived the war, 226 was found abandoned at Mogadishu airport in the 1990s.
The kit was finished using Tamiya primer and Vallejo Air for the finish coats I used US Desert Tan as the base and US dark Green for the disrupted color camouflage, with US light blue on the underside. The model was lightly weathered with Flory brown to highlight panel lines,
