Blade one

This was given to me as a gift. No box, no figure.

Album image #3
The figure was missing so I made one from this one I found.

He’s not very detailed, but better then an empty cockpit..

I scrounged up some stickers from other kits for the fun of it, and added Resistance orange..

Album image #10
Not, bad.. better then no figure at all.

Album image #11
I added some small rods for extra detail, and prepped the cockpit

I added a black oil wash to the primer before thinning and spraying blue oil paint right from the tube. I had never done this before, and did it without thinking, and then wondered what happened, and how I did it..? It was sublime

During the Galactic Civil War, Blade One was the callsign attributed to the first member of the starfighter squadron called Blade Squadron, composed of A/SF-01 B-wing starfighters. During the Battle of Endor, a unidentified Rebel pilot flew under the callsign Blade One and was later killed by a TIE interceptor.

Wow, very nice job on this old kit (and I don't remember the figure that came with the kit being much more detailed than yours!).

Thanks Torsten, Stefan, Spanjaard, Uwe 😄 It turned out pretty good, though my colors are a little off 🤔 I must say these vintage kits are much more challenging then the modern Bandai kits. Bad fitting, lots of seams, the canopy does not fit at all, and some details are missing. But it was fun and challenging, and relaxing, and that's what it's all about. Cheers, JD😉

Had this kit when I was a kid but never built it. Lovely to see it built so well decades later.

I saw this just now. Very nice! By the way I watched all three of the "original" old Star Wars movies again in search of Bw-ing footage. Of course, there were only a few seconds showing B-Wings in the last of the three early movies. But who am I telling this 😄

Thanks! You guys are really making this fun! 🙂 The B-Wings truly come to life in The rise of Skywalker Bernd, they have amazing maneuvering capabilities..

Love the look of this build - got one on the go at the moment (it's the terrible gold-plated release) but it is getting the full colour treatment.
