Managed to find a bit of time to start on something while I'm waiting for parts for my other builds.
I bought this from a guy on eBay who had started it over 4@ years ago & by his own admission ruined it.
I don't know why I find it enjoys but I love resurrecting kits that really should be heading for the bin.
This was a real shitter, everything cracked, snapped, covered in gobs of glue & some awful attempt at painting that has me believing they turned their hoover on backwards to spray it 😄
I've managed to rebuild & paint the frame, engine, exhausts, assembled the forks & rear wheel.
Every part had to be filed, sanded, stuck back together, not easy when the items are crumbling in your hands due to corrosion from excessive solvent & general deterioration.
The Molotow pen has earned its money on this one, just waiting on scam of Tamiya Light Blue metallic to spray the tank & mudguards, then wiring & assembly.

Hi John
Yeah 1/8 is a good scale for bikes, I find even 1/12 too fiddly for my simian sausage fingers 😄
1/6 is my favourite but I've pretty much done all the Tamiya bikes now, just a few favourites left in stash.

Munky you're as messed up as me! Just in a different way, It seems I have to twist up 90% of the kits I do. I might have to try a resurrection!

The work continues........ Tamiya TS-54 Light Metallic Blue will suit the early 70's chrome & alloy look nicely.
Some imperfections in the tank but I daren't fill & sand it any more, there's almost no original material left!
First time I've used a wash too, I've seen some of you using it on plane panel lines & I used it to give some depth to the barrel fins & crankcase joins.
I love the way it flow, can't wait to use it on my Revell 1/32 Iron Maiden Spit 😉

Finally glued the completed front wheel/forks/yokes assembly to the frame headstock so I have what looks like a bike now.
Tank & seat are yet to be glued on but the Tamiya Light Metallic Blue looks really good against the chrome & alloy, pleased with that choice!
Tried to use the original vinyl tubing for the cables, fuel lines & plug leads but it's so brittle it either snaps off the spigots it's due to go onto or just keeps pinging off
Bloody annoying but I'm sure I can get some new supple tubing from somewhere, I'll keep the original as patterns.
