5H-Russo-Ukrainian War (2014-)

The Russo-Ukraine War began in 2014, when unmarked Russian military forces entered Crimea, secured government buildings, and held a disputed referendum. Russia annexed Crimea shortly afterward, a move that was not internationally recognized. Immediately afterward, Russian-back separatists seized government buildings in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region and proclaimed the Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic as independent states. These states were not recognized internationally. Russia and Ukraine entered a mostly static war over these three territories. In 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but their march on Kiev failed. Russia shifted focus to capturing Donetsk, Luhansk, and southern region of Ukraine bordering Crimea. Ukraine has since received significant support from NATO to defend their territory from the Russian invasion. This collection covers arms donated to Ukraine by NATO and significant events involving NATO aircraft in Eastern Europe.

NATO ENHANCED FORWARD PRESENCE
Though not involved in the Russo-Ukraine War, NATO aircraft from countries bordering Russia, Belrus and Ukraine continuously patrol NATO airspace. Other NATO countries began Enhanced Air Policing missions out of Poland, Romania and Bulgaria since the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
