5F-Syrian Theater Operations (2012-)

Syria became the epicenter of military conflict in the 2010s. Islamic State paramilitary groups rose to power in large sections of Iraq and Syria, provoking a military response from the United States and various Arabic and western allies. At the same time, a civil war broke out in Syria, and Russia intervened to protect Syria's Assad regime. Iran deployed its own paramilitary forces to Syria in support of its own Shi'ite objectives, provoking conflict with US forces in Syria and Iraq as well as with Israeli forces in Syria and Israel. This collection includes aircraft involved in noteworthy incidents in the Syrian theater.
