Bright, or too bright?

The red decals looked to bright, shiny, and like thick plastic. So, I have tried tone them down with a dilute light grey wash, over all (except for the engine covers, which are shiny painted metal panels).  

I need to re- visit the undercarriage legs. I've tried to add definition to the engine. 

I chose not to use the decals on the tail, and painted it. Perhaps I should have done that on the wings too.
