Hawker Hurricane Mk II
After some serious cleanup of the parts the fit is quit good. I used some sprue goop (dark grey portions) to reinforce some weak glue points. This worked like a charme.
Put in some extra piping.
The fit isn't that bad. First time using super glue for glueing the fuselage halves in order to avoid ghost seams afterwards.
Fit of the wing to the fuselage without glueing. As can be seen the fit is rather good. Once I commit to glue I can do some finetuning.
At the front I had an uneven gap that I filed with black cyano. Next is sanding and rescribing the panel line
Fit of the underside panel is good. Just needs some minor sanding and rescribing.
Filling of the wing joints with black cyano glue. Advantage is no shrinking, good contrast and easier to sand and scribe than ordinary cyano glue.
Up till now the fit was not so bad. But fit of the gun inserts is horrible.
Cyano glue to the rescue.
To make the wing to fuselage fit I filed of the part in red. That way all fit together rather wel. Final adjustments will be made after I glued the wing to the fuselage.
Wing-fuselage glued. Had to use some plasticard to fill a small gap.
Using mr surfacer to even everything out.
Also some black cyano which is easier to sand and rescribe.
After wiping awy the mr surfacer with IPA the result should look good under a layer of paint.
Same procedure with mr surfacer for these nasty gaps.
Gunsite will installed at the end.
I was not happy how it looked out of the kit, so I dug in my spare photo etch and made some adjustments. The glass will be installed later on.
Some Mr surfacer airbrushed on to check the seams.
The landing lights have a very visible ficture which I try to recreate using some copper wire. Here I'm getting ready to soder them together.

After installing the landing lights I put on the covers which again need some cyano to fill the nasty gaps. These inserts in the wing don't fit that well. Certainly no Tamiya.

And lastly a black undercoat which will be visible from the inside.

Some sanding of the transparency.
And last polishing.
There is an gap at the right side which I will get rid of with some plasticard.
White primer (ran out of grey primer). Next is fixing some last issues and then sanding in preparation before painting.

Next up is painting most of the markings. For this I scanned the decalsheet and used this as a template for drawing the markings in illustrator. Then it was to the silhouette software and finally cutting them with my sillhouette Cameo 2.
Came out pretty good.

A good masking job is the key.
First the white.
Followed by the red. I use Maskol to make sure there are no seams between the masks. Even the tiniest seam can ruin the paintjob.
Next the blue.
Et viola.
Next up the fuselage markings.
Time for the fuselage markings.
First of is making sure that the markings are in the right spot. For this it's easy when you make your own masks. So I could make the simplified placing templates.
After some fiddling the maks are in place.
First up the letters with a neutral grey color.
Then the roundels and tail. Beginning with the white basecoat.
Followed by the yellow.
Masking for the red and don't forget to use the Maskol to fill tiny unvisible seams.
Followed by the bleu.
Et viola.
Looks good up close.
On his feet and weathering with oils has begun.
Kit exhaust ready for weathering.

Jorge FerreiraThanks for sharing. It looks like we need luck when buying revell kits. I'm building the same kit and the join between the wing and fuselage have a gap of almost 1mm. Jorge, in picture 33 you can see what I did to get rid of the horrible 1mm gap. As for the step down on the right side, I hope the take care of that after glueing the wing to the fuselage. First I have to clean up and rescribe lost panel lines on the wing. Especially the gun inserts that have some nasty gaps around them.

Jorge FerreiraHi Eric. I thought the same as pict 33 but then you have to force the fuselage to open. You will loose the good fit of the rest of the wing which is very good. Anyway i believe you will manage it. The leadind edge of the wing realy needs work but I still think this kit it`s not bad.
