Phantom 1937 Ford Pickup

I want to do a street rod/custom version of a phantom 1937 Ford Pickup based on the bodywork of a 1937 Ford Coupe/Sedan/Convertible. Not sure what "Era" of street rod yet. Will either be done in 1960's style, or more towards current design trends. Need to finish a couple other projects before I really dig into this one.
 

Grill on the side of the hood will be removed and the truck cab trim will be carried forward. Pickup kit will donate the cab and bed assembly. Convertible kit will donate the nose bodywork, fenders and chassis. Not sure about engine choice yet. Definitely want to stick with a Ford. If I go 60's era, I may just use the flathead from the pickup kit and dress it up with some period add ons. If I go modern, I might go for something from a Mustang. Not sure yet. 

I don't want to chop the cab of the pickup. I like the upright look of the cab, plus I think it would make the front end look too heavy if the cab was chopped. The truck cab is a little narrower than the convertible, so I'll need to make some adjustments somewhere. I'm thinking of cutting the cab just below the lower belt line trim and down the rear door seam and then grafting that to the convertible body. That will make all of the nose bodywork match up easier. The wheelbase lines up really well with almost no mods needed to the pickup bed. The tops of the rear fenders will need to be filled in with some styrene to blend in the area that would normally fit under the convertible body.
