Sprues

Blind jet intake opened up

Exhaust pipe kitbashed - the original is just a blind stub

Intake and exhaust installed - lots of weight installed in the nose

Ejection seat rebuilt with styrene and wine bottle foil

New cockpit - didn't bother much as nothing is visible anyway

Crooked and incorrect panel lines filled and new ones rescribed

Guns scratch built from sprues and 1 mm brass tubes

New guns in place

Landing gears kitbashed and scratch built (the kits's own wheels were too wonky and deformed to use)

Wing fit is atrocious

Gaps filled with Tamiya White Putty and canopy masked

Primed with Mr Surfacer 1500 black primer

Nose and wing walks painted

AK Xtreme Metal paints

Aluminium sprayed on

Final details installed with CA glue (the fuel tank braces needed a lot of fettling and adjusting to follow the wing shape)

Decals applied (HAD Models decal sheet)

Gloss varnish painted on with a broad paintbrush - it levels out beautifully for a completely even surface

Great build!!, now I know what to do with my Rioja foils too!! 🙂
I wonder how Airfix's new release will stack-up against this build?, (looks like you may have had some fit-issues which have been adeptly fixed)

Thank you! The Airfix Fresco will surely be a dream compared to the MisterCraft kit... which was almost like kitbashing, almost nothing would fit without major surgery.
