I do not think all of the "cool kids" paint in oil. I tried both methods (oil / acrylic) and both have its advantages. Oil is easy to blend(blending). But the drying time is relatively long. And the colors Look a bit different after drying. Acrylic is drying super fast, does not smell and is available in many colors. I have used the Andrea Fleshpaint set for my last figures (Around the Corner, Hue 68 . I am really enthusiastic about the opacity and how great the highlight and shadows match each other.
The disadvantage is that they do not blend so well. It should be applied layer by layer in thin layers. My problem is aware of this .... I have to invest more time for the individual layers and dilute more.In my taste I rather work with acrylic but especially with the weathering, oil colors are indispensable for me.

The ICM Soviet NCO looks very good. I assume that these are 1/35 figures?

Yes, these are all 1/35th scale. That particular one is from the "Soviet Staff Personnel (1943-1945)" kit.

I fully agree with Markus . I'm also ha my expierience with both oil and acrylics. In the past I'm using only oil for painting my figures. But now I switch over to acrylics.

Album info

Apparently all the cool kids these days use oils to paint their army men, I figured (get it?) I'll give it a go.
