I was looking at this kit, when I picked up the Duesenberg. Crazy thoughts were running through my mind, and Nigel's Frankenbaker popped in there too! I put it back on the shelf and calmed down with a cold beer 🙂

I believe that it's the same kit? It looked good, but monogram were, back in the early days.

Ah, if only it were the same. I've built that monogram and it is lovely. This testors boxing is of the later but not better Italeri tool. Should still build up nicely though.

Interesting. I thought that Italeri used the same moulds? I'll now have to get both, and compare the two? I can feel one of them, ending up with surgery! 😉

Well scalemates could be wrong! But monogram never released a boxing with this coachwork. I will have to unseal my Testors boxing and compare it to the monogram.

I have got the 1976 new look kit of the italeri
And also a revell kit
The italeri kit is sure much nicer
The chrome parts and detail is much better

I think the monogram kit is probably nicer then the revell I got
Its not the same as this monogram kit

No need to remove the seal, Kyle mate. I think that JV has got this covered?
@JV. Would you be able to confirm that the parts are the same, apart from the chrome finish?

Different parts completely different kit

The monogram kit is also different to the revell kit I got
The monogram kit is a monogram tool
The revell kit is a revell tool
The italeri kit is italeri tool
The testors kit I believe is italeri tool

The mystery continues. Gentlemen, you have aroused my curiosity! I shall acquire more of these kits, and take a play with them, Bozzer style 😉

Oh I live for breaking seals on original release kits. lol. Looking at the Italeri kit. It is different but I definitely think they borrowed some pieces from the monogram tooling. Some of it is almost identical. Some of it is totally different. What a weird deal. And let's not forget that jo-Han also did these cars. I have one of those as well. Perhaps I should compare that one too.

Now that's an interesting comparison, my friend! Jo-han, were masters, in their own right. Granted, true vintage kits now, but my recollection of them, was rough around the edges. AMT vehicles, at the time, we're basically toys. Badly made, at the best! Revell, well they seemed to have the new, cool kits. But definitely, give me monogram and ertl, and I know that I'm in for a great time! And that's coming from a guy, that was force fed Airfix, all his childhood? I still have a soft spot for tamiya though. I just wish they built, American Trucks 😉

Only way to find out kyle 😆 🤣 😂

The Jo-Han kits are totally hit or miss. The 1931 Cadillac kits are just gorgeous and well engineered. Some of their other stuff is basically just promos in kit form. The turbine car is incredible. I'll take a look at the merc and see how it stacks up.

I haven't got any Jo-han kits yet
Don't see them here

Don't see them very much here either. They can be hard to find. I have been fortunate to find a couple for decent price but it's not easy.

From what I have seen here thay have been interesting subjects
And have looked like nice models
I came across some fantastic models this weekend
Some protar motorcycles
A bandi car
And one otaki kit
Some gunze sangyo kits
And some other fantastic stuff
Keeps me poor 😆 🤣 😂
I think my favourite is a gunze sangyo high teck model
But hard to pick a favourite

I missed out on a couple of sealed Johan Cadillac Ambulance's, not too long ago. £40 each, brand new. Ain't hindsight, a wonderful thing?

Brilliant stuff Jv.

Bozzer, I just scored a sealed one of those Cadillac ambulances myself. Got a stunner of a deal on it from an old gentleman's collection. Can't wait to build that one.
