Inspired by my trip to the Normandy Battlefields with two mates. At the top of a seemingly innocent and insignificant low hill near Caen are several monuments relating to a momentous battle that took place there in the Summer of 1944. 'Hill 112', although not a significant hill, is nonetheless the most prominent geological feature for many miles around and was considered of vital strategic importance to Rommel himself. Despite several bloody efforts, the allies never succeeded in taking the hill, and it was eventually abandoned by the Germans as their position in the area became untenable.
The Tamiya 'British Infantry Tank Mk IV - Churchill Mk VII' depicts a similar tank to the one currently in place on the hill, which I believe (subject to research) is a Mk VII. From what I've read, the Mk VII was fielded as reserves by 9 RTR at Hill 112, which is handy because Tamiya provide decals for a vehicle from this regiment.
