Album info

A fun project but IF I were to do it again, I would definitely prefer using Tamiya birds instead of the HC ones but what I picked up these ones for ($4.99CAN @ Giant Tiger back in 1997) is certainly much cheaper!

I have always been fascinated by war birds ending up fighting in the skies in Latin America and I remember seeing an article on HS of an El Salvadorian FG-1D in camoflage. I tried my hand at doing up a camo FAS FG-1D around 2005 and was hooked on the corsair since. 23 years later I have 3 FAS Corsairs with eye set on doing 2 Honduran ones. I certainly don't want to wait another 23 years to do those!

I decided to save my Aztek decals and use my ancient HC ones. The British ones disintegrated on a little test piece so I added a few layers of Micromark Decal film and it worked...mostly. I worked carefully but there are imperfections that make these a one of a kind! 🙂.
