Thanks for such nice comments. This was my first attempt with photoetched parts as well and I'm not sure yet how I want to make this black more irregular. That's why I used this sand paint to make some difference before I put another layer of Night Black from Hataka. Right now I don't have place for airbrush and paint booth, so only paint brush is allowed 🙂

Nothing wrong with the brush, with care can easily match airbrush

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments. Really appreciate.
Looks like the sand colour was not good for making shades for the final layer of Night Black 🙂 I will experiment with this on next night/black plane model. Right now there is about 7 layers of black paint and one layer of sand-like paint. Slowly I will finish this one.

Unfortunately varnish was not shaken enough and I got this "snow-like" things that I don't know how to get rid off. I wasn't sure what weathering I want to make on the plane, but I think that winter one is not I even taken under consideration 😉
Also when I start getting of the masks from canopy my magnifier glass collapse and break wheels of the plan... Really bad luck today. Looks like I will need start second project and paint second Hurricane the same way, as I really want to have this night ops Hurricane in my collection. At least I know now, that all the painting job inside cockpit are unnecessary as it is not visible via closed canopy.

What about trying to remove the last layer using a super fine polish?

I tried, but this snowy something go so dip, that I failed. And its blurry everything underneath so looks even worse then before sanding. Lesson learned - shake your spray varnish very well before apply, unless you want to have this snowy effect 😉
