you`re always welcome robert!!

Robert Podkoński
Thanks, Simon 🙂 (I always wonder how you put such complex camo on already assembled models...)

I'm in.

Count me in 👍 I really look forward to see that camouflage being done! Personally, I would likely try to make the white stripes with airbrushed thin white layels over chipping varnish and then use some of either washable acrylic white or maybe white oil paints... as has been said, I´m curious to see that being done 😉

Murad ÖZER
great job with the PE in 72nd scale!
29 January 2022, 13:23
Simon Nagorsnik
you`re all welcome mates!
@tom: for sure, chipping medium will be a supporting agent.
the plan is something like this: dark brown primer for chipping the carc tan, bronce green+ chipping over carc tan, masking the w.c. using tape+ chipping.
@murad: the pe parts were the smallest problem, with the plastic I had much more work 😥

Very nice work, Simon. Camo and chipping look great.

Simon Nagorsnik
Thanks WhiteGlint, but it's not finished yet.
ext it continue with the weathering and the construction of the display.
It might take a while because I have to get some snow first...😁

Chan Li
Man this is awesome, it looks like 1:35 instead of 1:72, and all the weathering were just reasonable , neither too used nor too shinny.
I'm not good in tank build but think I can follow your job to get some inspiration.
19 February 2022, 09:39
Simon Nagorsnik
Thank you Chan!
But the newest pic is just a stage in the progress.
More will follow!
Looking at your planes i think tanks shouldn't be a problem for you.😄
And if you are not sure how to proceed - use mud🤣
19 February 2022, 09:46
Chan Li
The snowland looks comfortable too, a noob like me may want to see how you made it 🤔

Robin (WhiteGlint)
Snowy surface looks good in my opinion. Looking forward to the other snow effects you will applay. :3
I am interest in what you did as well, Simon.

I will be happy to tell you what I have done so far, Chan.
What you currently see is all still w.i.p.
But so far it has been very simple.

I started with a layer of vallejo`s light earth texture covered with a heavy wash of ak`s fresh mud.
Then i add a few self adhesive grass tufts and sprinkled a thin layer of static grass over the whole surface.
however, I left the lane under the tracks a little deeper (uncovered) during the whole process.

Now follows the first layer of the snow.
It`s a mix of different products.
I used a mix of vallejo`s and citadel snow but you can use any other standard acrylic snow product.
The first layer snow is a mix of 1:1:1:1 vallejo+citadel+ stillwater effects+ water.
This creates a nice layer of glossy, melting snow.
Applied in 2 thin layers, trying to let the grass visible.

Next i want to add more volume but i`m running out of material.
For that i will use Ak`s ice sparkles and mikro balloons.
I hope to get them soon to be able to continue.

Maybe there is something you can use Chan 😁

Thanks Simon, I note them down. These European products may be not easy to find here - but I think it won't be a problem for me. I need to try them out after doing some research. May consult you again for more information. Is it the reason you built a 1:72 Abrams? Cuz easier to create the surroundings.
19 February 2022, 12:54
Simon Nagorsnik
Of course, you can contact us at any time, this platform is also there for 🙂
To the products: it is not so important which brands to use, I just mentioned it.

Simpler: start with a muddy ground to simulate wet earth and if you blend different snow effects and water effects (or glossy clear varnish) together, you can easily create melting snow with a transparent appearance.
For lighter snow you can also experiment with baking soda.

The reason why I took the M1: I saw pictures in different publications of an M1 during winter exercises in germany.
The combination of the different colors green, tan and white on the vehicle in combination with a snow coverde ground had fascinated me very much.

It was a very nice change from the most common desert camouflage / environment and yes, of course, i like the shape of the abrams 😀

I see, and now I basically understand, would have to try it out… well you have lighted up my desire to start new trial. Thanks, you are the man!

That's the best snow dio I've seen in this scale. It looks like it will melt if you don't keep it in the freezer. 😉
4 March 2022, 07:46
Robin (WhiteGlint)
Beautiful work, Simon! 👍
You can also see the soil stirred up by the tracks and dirtying the snow.
Nice attention to detail. 🙂

Every praise you got here is well deserved. You really took care of every detail and this also pays off in a realistic over all appearance of this diorama.
4 March 2022, 09:45
Simon Nagorsnik
Nice to hear from you Neuling andthank you!
I wasn't quite sure if I could get a convincing result with the snow.
But I think it's a good start for future projects because I have made new experiences with snow products.

Album info

The most of the parts are casted in 2014 and have all molding seams and also some front offset.
Some edges and details seemed a bit too "soft" to me.
The fit wasn't that good either, there were hardly any components that i didn't have to file or trim.
There were enough gaps to fill and some improvements were necessary.
The detail of the tracks was very lacking.

The best thing about this kit is that almost all versions of the M1 can be built.
The additional armor and remote station are new tool and of super quality.

The gold edition also contains an Orange Hobby alu/resin gun barrel, PE parts, a figure and lots of useful accessories.
I also added a Master .50 mg barrel and antennas from Orange Hobby.

Overall, the kit is ok and has good things to say about it, but it doesn't compete with the Flyhawk kits.
