WIP
Some improved detail with 3D printed clamp.
Comparison between the new Tamiya lower hull in front and the AFV-Club lower hull at the back.
Comparison: left AFV-Club, right Tamiya. Quite equal, but you see all the beautiful weld lines at the Tamiya kit.
Comparison between the new Tamiya lower hull in front and the Academy lower hull at the back.
Comparison: left Academy, right Tamiya. Weld lines even at the Academy kit, but the detail is more crisp and defined on the new Tamiya offering! And the overall appearance is just perfect.
Some more improvements with the tools at the rear.
The ammunition racks with nice detail!
And painted.
The interior just painted, some dirt will follow as well as some additional stowage items.
The turret - I added details like flashlights, canteens from TMD and changed the Intercom boxes from the kit with items from TMD. 0,3 and 0,4mm leadwire were used for further detailling.
Tamiya provided only closed periscopes, so I changed them with left over items from Asuka.
Some more small details added.
The gunsight was drilled out a bit.
An M1 Carabine was installed from Verlinden.
And some dry fitting with the turret ring.
Painting was done with Mission Models Olive Drab and details handpainted with Vallejo Acrylics. Placards from Archer.
Left side completed.
View from above.
Turret ring with seats.
The main gun.
All put together. The gun is not glued in place.
Very cramped place there in the turret...

Thanks guys! The Tamiya kit is a very nice kit and a vast improvement to the old Academy or AFV-Club kit! I can recommend it to any allied armor fans!
