Medium Tank M4A3E2

Album image #1
Hull front with a missing hinge for the gun travel lock, because it pinged away and wasn’t to be found anywhere 🙁 Luckily, it later turned up on the floor — when searching for something else that flew out of my tweezers …

Album image #2
Exhaust deflector in place, with some plastic offcuts behind it so it can’t swing upward (it’s really only glued by its hinge pins otherwise).

Album image #3
Hull rear mostly finished, with AFV Club T48 track blocks because the Asuka ones are hollow on the underside.

Album image #4
Mudguard mounting brackets with the holes drilled through.

Album image #5
Entire suspension, with dish-shaped wheels on most stations.

Album image #6
Turret with textured filler to get rid of scars from mould part lines and seam between turret halves.

Album image #7
A Tamiya commander’s cupola was used, for no reason I can remember anymore …

Album image #8
Rear of mostly complete turret.

Album image #9
The mostly complete model from above.

Album image #10
M2 HB machine gun as supplied in the kit, with its cover open.

Album image #11
Royal Models crew figures in the turret.

Album image #12
Finished model from the right. The tracks are the kit parts.

Album image #13
Model painted in Mr. Paint olive drab, highlighted with a lightened version, then given a wash of Games Workshop Devlan Mud and drybrushings with lighter shades of olive drab.

Album image #14
Rear deck with markings applied, from Archer dry transfers.

Album image #15
Suspension painted to appear very muddy, using earth-coloured base coat all over, plus darker washes and lighter earth-shade drybrushing.

Album image #16
Machine gun travel bracket had broken off when the turret fell from the workbench, so this is a plastic card replacement cut to the approximate shape.

Album image #17
Dirty rag (from tissue paper) to hide replacement machine gun travel bracket.

Album image #18
Finished model from left front.

Album image #19
Finished model from left rear.

Album image #20
Finished model from right rear.

Album image #21
Finished model from right front

Album image #22
Finished model from above.
