When I ordered the Dekno models 1/72 Lycoming I didn't expect to be so good.

![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/0/8/8/872088-72216-73-720.jpg)
Unfortunatelly Dekno does not include the exhaust collector. I used the kit part mostly to be sure for the symmetry of the 9 exhaust pipes.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/0/8/9/872089-72216-40-720.jpg)

![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/0/9/5/872095-72216-68-720.jpg)
Collector installed. A triangular part arount the prop hub serves as the base for the collector, same as in real engine. Ready to glue the pipes
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/0/9/3/872093-72216-44-720.jpg)
Pipes glued to collector. Thick cyano will glue the other end to cylinder head and act as a "filler".
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/0/9/4/872094-72216-47-720.jpg)
The small oil pipes on cylinder heads made from a piece of copper wire. After the cyano glue was set the parts of wire between cylinders were removed.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/0/9/6/872096-72216-61-720.jpg)
The main exhaust made from 2mm styrene rod heated to bend as required. Remain to install the small oil tubes between cylinders at the rear of the cyl heads.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/9/1/5/895915-72216-19-720.jpg)
ResKit resin P-51 wheels were used as a substitute for the kit's very mediocre parts.
Rim covers were made from plasticard and a new tail gear from brass rod.

Basic painting with MrColor C329 and rigging started. Cabane struts replaced with aeroclub airfoil strut, kit parts are too short and thick.

![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/9/1/6/895916-72216-43-720.jpg)
Rigging complete. After 24 hours (to be sure cyano has set) I will trim and sand the rigging holes as required.

Thanks for your encouragement 🙂
Next comes the engine, 3D printed by Dekno models. No need to comment the level of detail compared to the stock piece. Some extra work required for the exhaust collector ring and pipe. I will suggest dekno to include this part in the future.

The scratch-built spraying equipment turned out great - the air-driven pump, in particular, is a little gem! 👍

I think this is enough with this old kit 🙂
That was a very special project requiring more time for research than for building. A lot of fun! 🙂
