It looks like new Barkhorn, well done! There would be a little difference in scale, but I'm sure your Wehrmacht tank crewman would be able to use it as a run-around until he waits for his Panzer. 😉

Now that would be a a "What If" series coming out of the twilight zone, i still have at least 6 or 7 1:18 Die Cast cars to restore, they were mine since mid 90's when Shell gifted them to customers who spent more than around £50 at a time.

As they have been stored in my fathers house they were involved in accidents, humidity and were completely at the mercy of two murderous cats who used the box where they were stored to mark their territory. I managed to removed the fluids and the odour but the chassis have rust and bubbles and the paint has to be stripped

I can assure you it is a good challenge and plus you add value to them as these cars were of cheap quality and had no real detail so painting the engine and interior details springed it back to life. Also this Porshe allowed me to margin to play and apply a candy paint and customised decals, these were quite easy to print but i made a mistake when applying the varnish to seal and protect them (you may see the effect on the ones in the bonnet)

I still have 6 or 7 more to restore but each one takes no less than 2 or 3 months to complete the process.

Here is the list below:

Bugatti EB110
Jaguar Type E
2x Ferrari F50 (Hardtop and convertible)
Dodge Viper RT/10
A prototype ferrari race car
Alfa Romeo Spyder from the 90's (misses tail lights)
2x pre WW2 mercedes race cars
1 Catterpillar D11R
and a couple more ferraris

Surely the caterpillar D11R can't be 1/18, it would fill the room! I'm not really into cars, but of that list my favourite is the 'E' type Jag, with the Spyder in second place. Come to think of it, they are both the same sort of era as me. When I was a little kid I said to my mum "when I get my 'E' type, I'll take you to the shops". I never did get one. 🙁
I thought the decals on the Porsche were meant to look like that – a sort of Instagram type of filter.
I was thinking that it might be a bad idea for the crewman to use the porsche, he might start insisting that his new tank has a Porsche turret. 😉

You are right, it should be 1:43 or even 1:48, i got her back in the 90's when i bought some expensive CAT shoes and the shop manager gave me this as a reward for being good customer.

The original E type Jag is now very expensive 🙁 one my uncles has one but he never takes her out of the garage afraid of being stolen ... go figure

Have you ever considered the triumph spitfire mk4, last time i saw them they were not too expensive

i found this one here in Portugal but if they are kind of cheap here then in Britain they should be even cheaper

I know someone who has an un-restored 'E' type, he has kept it hidden under a blanket in a local garage for about ten years – what a waste.
I'm an old boring sod now, so I've got a Skoda Octavia estate. I used to like cars, but I've always gone for practical rather than fun. If I was in the market for something interesting, but somewhat cheaper than a Jag, it would probably be something like a Marcos Mantula.

interesting choice, a style mix in between a Jag E and a 63 corvette sting ray 🙂

If you are interested in restoring this Jag E Type send me a PM with your adress and i'll gladly send it to you but i warn it will need paint stripping and full exterior and interior painting.
The car is complete and has all the parts in place

Thanks for the offer Barkhorn. I'll probably stick to doing things with wings and things relevant to things with wings. I tried a non-aircraft related subject early last year – a Karmann Ghia, and I didn't enjoy the build at all, even though it is probably my all time favourite car. I'm a bit of an aircraft obsessive and well past all hope – so thanks for the generous offer, but I'll have to pass. 🙂

i accept your answer but you will have to do a thing for me, on a different post someone suggested restoring this Jag using an Austin Powers theme, as this is a left hand drive Jag it does not make sense to use Brittish licence plates so i imagined an overseas mission.
I would like you to choose an interesting country / city for the Austin powers mission to allow me to create the customised decals
What do you think about this? Is it interesting this way?

To me, most foreign countries & city's are interesting and exotic, after all, I live in Coventry. I'm interested in history, so any city with a rich history I would find fascinating – surely it has to be Lisbon, or that too prosaic from your stand-point?
Forgive me if I have misunderstood your question – my head is a little woozy today for some reason.

I think the Austin Powers theme is a great idea, but it isn't going to be easy to do a union jack.

In my recollection a bBurago model was designed to fall apart after a couple of weeks 🙂 They all did...
An austin Powers E would be fun. Just remember that the 'jack' isn't symmetrical:

gorbygould for as long as i am able to print customised decals everything is possible and as someone says the sky is the limit and cows do fly lol

You haven't misunderstood the question, it was just about to choose a city or country to locate the Austin Powers mission 🙂

Lisbon it is then, so it is written so shall be done!!! SPIES BEWARE AUSTIN POWERS IS COMING ON HIS SHAGMOBILE!!!

Martin Oostrom Thanks for the tip and i will have it into consideration

Now the only catch is that i will only be able to start after i clear the workbench lol 2 aircraft are almost out, 1 HS-126 which will require immediate attention and 1 Mirage III near completion, the space shuttle will go back to On Hold. One 66 Shelby GT350 body painted and interior started but i think i may be able to build simultaneously and the rest will just be paused as they can be stored again on their boxes

This said i think in about a week or two i could be able to start this project
