They reallu look good...

Juste a few question...

What is the scale of these kits?

What did you use as a wash? It seems to highlight a very subtil way the rivets...

Thanks again!

Scale - the Zero is 1/32; the Corsair, Tony and Spitfire are 1/48; the Thunderbolt and the Arrow are 1/72

Wash - I use Promodeller wash most of the time and that is what is on the Zero. I used the 'Dark' and not the 'Black'. I have a build article on the Zero in the Articles section if you are interested.

That's a great collection - The Zero couple looks very interesting - I would love to see more of them.

I knew it looked familiar! I have seen this model before, this is excuisite work and amazing detail, painting and finish. TOP MODEL! Would it be too much to ask more about the green model 52 ?

I agree with everyone's comments, this is a nice collection of models! Good job! I have the 1:72 CF-105 in my stash waiting to be built - it's a project I want to tackle, but the amount of work to fix its problems is rather daunting. Some day... 🙂

I will have a look at your Zero article!

Ummmm... yeah... the CF-105 is a bit of work considering the simplicity of the model. However, the main 'issues' of the kit are sink marks and steps in relatively easy to correct areas. CA, putty, sanding sticks and scribers will turn it into something nice.

I have to say - painting gloss white is a royal pain!

Barber: You saw it?!? I am flattered that you remember it. I have entered it in a few shows. The green A6M5 I finished in 2009. That had an oil wash on the top. I had a lot of fun with both models - great kits!!

The kits are indeed the best I have seen in this scale with respect to the quality of the plastic, the detail and the fit. Your zero is hard to forget! It is one of my favourite aircraft, and I was blown back when I first saw it - so I copied all the photos for inspiration! It is nice to be able to share this with you now 😉

Yes, what you say about the HobbyCraft CF-105 is all true! I have a set of 1:24 scale drawings on A.V. Roe Canada paper that shows that the kit has some serious shape issues as well. Plus, I have the early release of the HobbyCraft kit, so my wings have the flap actuator fairings on the top instead of the bottom! Nothing a little slice and dice won't fix...

Nice build thread on the Zero, very nice indeed! Exquisite work on the shading, very subtle and very effective!

Yes - the arrow experts think the kit is terrible... but it does look like an arrow. I built it for my wife's uncle who loves the Arrow. I think he really liked the model. Mine is also the fairings on the top but I didn't bother changing them. The cockpit is terrible as is the canopy so I painted the windows on.
