Welcome everyone! 👍
In the meantime I closed the fuselage and currently I'm dealing with the struts which require trimming for the A version

Very nice cockpit, Łukasz. Yahu panels are very good 👌
How is the kit fit so far? I have Azur's Greek, but I was thinking of changing it to IBG's, so I don't know if it will be worth it.

Hi there mates, glad to see you here 👍
The kit itself is a bit disappointing, even though not a very old one:
- the fuselage fit was poor (on top in particular),
- the wings seem to a bit warped,
- the engine and exhaust required lot of trimming to fit into the cowling
- the wing struts for version A require lot of trimming - that's how it's designed, they provided only one set of struts for all versions
- some PE parts are just waste of time - like the little flaps for the wings & fin - it was easier to cut thin plastic and squeeze it between the plastic parts during assembly
Long story short - go for the IBG if you can - knowing their other kits 👍

Following along Lukasz. Am sure you will overcome the kit's shortcomings. 🙂

Hi Neil, doing my best - after some thinking and trying to use PE for the radiators, I gave up and used Aizu tape instead. Seems like half of the PE fret will remain unused 😄

Very interesting kit and model! I am looking forward to see the final result! And yes, that is often my experience too with PE with 1:72., the makers tend to add a bunch of stuff that makes no sense.

Asking myself the same question since I tried to assemble the engine 😄
Calling it a stash spring cleanup 😉 Next ones will be IBG for sure
The PE policy is really strange in this kit tbh - there are lots of tiny details but the huge frame in front of the engine is missing 😮
Luckily I have a leftover fret from IBG's P.11, which is universal for the whole family of PZL fighters.

The brass barrels look really great! Some time ago I bought a set of aluminium tubes from Albion Alloys, they are a bit more expensive but you can cut them with just a modeling knife.

I believe more and more strongly that I have to change my Azur for IBG, 😄
I agree with Thomas. Those brass tubes look amazing. Much better than those fragile resins. The rest of the plane is also looking great with all the improvements made

Thanks a lot, that of course was supposed to be another OOB build 😄
Thomas, these come from the very same vendor and they're grand indeed 👍
Cuajete, don't hesitate any more 😉

Łukasz, I still have to see more suffering to convince myself of the change, although this is not one of your Amodels 😋

Welcome, did some spraying yesterday, so you can start having a clue what it's going to look like
Cuajete, you don't want to go that way, trust me 😄

It's starting to look really pretty! I like the way you got the engine together.

Łukasz, I believe you so I already put my Azur up for sale to buy the IBG, but so far no one wants it. Believe me 😄
Good spraying 👍

Thanks, doing my best to screw it now 😄
Once I varnished the bugger to start washing, the black marker used for after-sanding checks started to show up somehow. So I thought a quick duraluminium spraying session will fix the issue.
Well, it made it all even worse - masking tape took the digits away. While there were additional 2, 0 and 1s on the decal sheet, I had to hand paint the 8 myself using small leftovers.
I was about to order the IBG kit 😄 but well I made it, don't me ask how, I dunno myself tbh.

I think we've all tried to mask over decals once - NEVER works. Sorry for the damage - I have had some luck using liquid mask over decals, try a small spot first and try it.

True Casey, but sometimes I try it all over again with the same results 😉
Meanwhile I took couple of shortcuts and I can announce it completed.
Not entirely happy with the end result, but the kit is really poor - next Polish Wing plane will be either IBG or Arma for sure.
Added 3 teaser pics, more to come tomorrow.

Good job Łukasz, and very nice result! It gets me into the mood for building this kit!

@Jocaj: Avoid it at all cost and go for the IBG kit instead. It's a very frustrtaing set and has a lot of errors.
PS. No, IBG hasn't sponsored any part of this project 😄

Congrats Łukasz! You've managed to overcome the issue and build a beautiful model!
BTW I've experienced the same frustration when trying to mask over a decal. Occasionally this trick works with very weak tamiya tape (did work for me on my NMF Tempest). Curiously (or rather not) peeling of a wrong decal on purpose never works even with strongest tape 🙂

In the meantime I uploaded the promised end-of-the-build photos - enjoy and behold the kit's shortcomings and the shortcuts I added on top 😉

Great job and nice result, Łukasz!
I'm glad you were able to solve the problem with the decal.
Congrats!
I know that in some way IBG has sponsored many parts of this project and that it has caused you to leave aside the Amodel builds... for the moment 😄

@Cuajete: This year is the year of quick projects, so you have to wait a bit. Maybe 2025 will be AModel year? Who knows? 😄

Fantastic job on this beauty! I wouldn't personally have opted for a Turkish bird but it's still by no means a bad choice! The P.7a & P.11a are fabulous looking as well. Are you planning to add a P.11b, P.11c & P.11f? Perhaps even the hypothetical P.11g?

@Tony: Yes, there are other Polish Wings to come, definitely IBG/Arma ones. Not sure I'll make all of the mentioned ones, but most for sure.

Does anyone know if the Turkish P.24s or any of their fighters for that matter forced down any allied or axis aircraft over their country, enforcing their neutrality? I've heard plenty of stories about the Swiss doing this but I haven't heard anything about the Turkish doing the same?
@Łukasz I'm looking forward to the next Polish wings to come! I'm so incredibly grateful that IBG & Arma are around now. What a leap in molding technology it has been since PZW & ZTS Plastyk! (Although! I will say that JMK Hobby & Broplan made/make amazing vacuform kits; It's just a shame that Martola broke off their relationship with the manufacturer of the latter. Now Broplan is only available through the Aviation Mega Store out of the Netherlands & they adamantly refuse to ship anything internationally unless it's via UPS.
