I would like to know more about the light effect. How was it accomplished with the strip lighting? Is the tubes hollow?

Sure thing. Those are 10mm hollow tubes (not solid rods). COB LED Strip Lights 6500K Daylight White,PAUTIX Dimmable DC24V. This type of light looks like a single light instead of close spaced individual lights. I'm hopeful they are bright enough to show thru the cotton that will be painted up as the smoke cloud. Should be as i saw spots for 5 minutes after accidentally looking straight at them lol

How small a diameter tube can they fit in? I have a 1/64 project I want to do where I need simulated fluorescent tubes

This is 8mm led string. I had to work pretty hard to get it in because i doubled it up, since you can see both sides of the tube. 10mm tube has an 8mm inside diameter.
You can also buy a 5mm led to go in an 8mm tube. Much harder to find tho. The order i placed back in nov. never showed up and they refunded my money.

Thanks Villiers & Spanjaard! Yes, once i laid out the pieces i used hairspray on them so they are formable. Next i will do the painting and then it should be all done. Mostly it's white black, gray, and brown(dirt from ground thrown up). The only real 'color' is the blinding white right from the jet nozzles it seems.
