Nissan 240RS 1983 NZ Rally Winner

First Beemax kit, built OOB with original decals.

- Primed with Tamiya Fine Surface primer (body) and Rust-oleum 2X primer spray can for all other sprues
- Painted with Tamiya LP-2 white
- Clear coated with Mr Hobby GX-100 Super clear
- Using Mr Hobby PS275 airbrush
- Interior painted with Tamiya and Mr Hobby acrylics
- Polished body with 6000, 8000 & 12000 micromesh pads and fine polishing compound

Another boxy 80's rally car.
Kit was fairly basic (I didn't opt for the detail up set) and close to Hasegawa quality. Didn't take a long time as everything is either white or black.
The decals were the hardest part, bonnet decal did not allow for the three grills so I pre-painted the grills in blue and red in case they split or did not conform.
Surprisingly, the decals went on fantastic and conformed with the help on Micro Set and Sol and a hair dryer. I cut the slot for each grill and patiently pressed the decal into each slot.
Same method was used for all other decals with assistance from decal solutions and heat.
The disappointment with the decals is I positioned the bonnet and boot decals incorrectly and by the time I realised it was too late.
The only other frustrating part was painting the window surrounds as there is no masking sheet and the white of the body can be seen through the windows. It should've been painted black and wasn't clear in the instructions (my error).

Overall, very happy with the end result.
