Bad fit of the Wings ? Did Airfix subcontract this kit to Amodel, Lukasz???

The fit of the wings is quite bad indeed, the nacelles are even worse.... Keep fiddling about, cutting and filing, in the end it will fit. Make sure to remove all knock out marks and trim the ribs on the lower wing, it improves the overall fit.

@Jan: Damn, too late 😄 Will have to work on nacelles and wingtips then...
@Erik: The kit nit, but the wings, who knows?😉

Thanks, it's quick indeed - seems I'll have to wait for the mask delivery because of that 😄

@Jan also it appears to me after checking the sprues and parts that the plasticmaterial is somewaht soft and not what i would call crisp. Can you second that mates?

Can't call it soft, but I'm used to the Amodel, DDR, CSSR and Peoples Republic of Poland products 😄
Stefan, always good to have you on board 👍

Hm, between Amodel and a Model there could lie galaxies.
Now i will see sooner or later 🙂

Plastic is soft indeed, yet easy to work with. Lukasz, check the stabalizer, I think you have it upside down, ie on the wrong side .

Well, I glued them according to the instructions. The only distinct element (balance? hinge?) is on top of the right stabilizer. All the other 3 surfaces look exactly the same. I hope this is ok.

I thought I was inside of this build, but I was missing it. This kit does not appear to fit well in some areas, as seen here and other builds.
Following.

Great one👍, watching. It is great inspiration for me, I´ve got also one in my stash and planning to do it soon.

Thanks mates. Yes, Cuajete, the kit seems to be really nice but it gets nasty in few places. So far I find the engine nacelles to be the worst part of it.

I know. Got the undersides sprayed and they look good, now time for the upper part of the nacelles 🙂

Thanks, sprayed the blue undersides today. I'm not good at preshading, but I did my best here.
Now, need to gather some courage and clean the airbrush to proceed with mottling.

Thanks, remember the nacelle-wing joints are mainly containing Bondic glue😉

Started my 1st ever mottling attempt and well, I'm not very proud to say the least.
Seems my H&S Ultra nozzle has deformed already and is spitting around 🙁
Not sure what to do next, there are few options:
- fetch the new nozzle, so it holds tight the needle,
- play more with RLM76 too,
- wait for new airbrush planned for March,
- go for Juergen's putty "camo" (most tempting),
- go for the Czech one

It does not look bad from here Lukasz. Go over the areas you do not like with some 76 and do some backwards mottling, that is how I usually do mine as well.

Damn, masked the engines based on A-2a version photo, the '711' A-1a had them in NMF too.

Your metal finish turned out good - I was curious how your paint experience will be as I'm going for the putty camo as well. I have a slower build speed but ready for painting since yesterday....

Lukasz that's one fabulous treatment! I'd be tempted to stop at pic 17 and decal up, turning it into 'pimp my ride' type thing. The Luftwaffe does MTV (money for nothing and [schwalbe] chicks for free) 🙂

Thx Gary, Dire Straits has a spot soft in my heart too 🙂
So, I attempted to seal the metal, but must have been too generous probably and the green started to pop up here and there.
I'm going to respray the parts, but was strongly tempted to park it under a tree 😄 I wonder if I would have tried it intentionally, I'd never get such a nice effect 😄
Now I know how to paint the famous derelict Albanian jets 😄

Regarding the colour for the putty, I'd use two of the medium greys, so you have some colour variation. Also, the airleons and such would be delivered to the factory in light grey or RLM 76.

So as spraying is done, I'm gonna get some Pactra/Vallejo RLM76 then 🙂
Do you mean the tail too?

Thanks for the pics, however it's too late to respray all the panels the way your reference materials specify. I'm gonna try to include as much as I can.
In the meantime I found out Humbrol 106 to be too bright. Considering mixing it with Humbrol 96 I have.

So, puttying mostly done, I may wash it with grey panel liner to get some subtle shading here and there (where the panel lines are too deep).
Next: varnishing and decalling.

This kit is sitting on my shelf as part of an idea for Luft'46 project. I really like the metal finish. Going to study this build carefully as a template for my future build. Very nice! Like 🙂

Thanks a lot.
Decalled the kit today - the top wing crosses might be bit too big, but it's too late anyway - at least the fuselage ones are cut and placed according to the reference pics.
What's left? Some varnishing, wheels, wheel covers and rigging.
@Rui: there at least 2 known metal Schwalbes - A-1a (s/n 111711) & A-2a (s/n 111712), the former being the most famous one, as it made it across the pond and flew there too.

Well done Łukasz !! It looks great!
At the end we will have quite a bunch of new bare metal Me262's on our shelfs after this group build has ended. 👍
