Awesome work of an assembly ship! I really love this special planes!

This kind of planes are called "Assembly Ships" or "Formation Ships".
Those planes were meant to help other bombers to find the formation and rally behind these special painted bombers.
Those planes were normally unarmed and without a payload. They also returned home as soon the bomber formation had been established.

Thanks a lot Sören, now it makes sense 🙂 i did not know about that.
i did not really expect anybody wanting to fly with that colour scheme over nazy Germany in 1944 😄, so i was really curious about it.
quite an interesting model, and nicely done.
