‘57 Chevy street rod

Album image #1
Some painted details were added to the front bumper. A grey wash was used on the grill and wheel trims to complete the build.

Album image #2
The kit provides two alternative axle positions - standard and lowered. I went for lowered.

Album image #3
Rear lights added with clear red into appropriate areas of the rear bumper.

Album image #4
Finished result after a couple of coats of gloss varnish and a polish.

Album image #5
Flames and other decals applied. The flame decals had some thin white edges, which I painted over before the final varnish coat.

Album image #6
The carpets were painted matt black and chrome details added to the dashboard and steering wheel with a chrome pen.

Album image #7
The interior was sprayed red and the door cards hand painted with a dark grey chosen to match the seat decals. I just hand-painted some detail on the chassis plate.

Album image #8
The masking worked well, but a couple of areas needed touching up.

Album image #9
A couple of coats of Vallejo chrome was applied.

Album image #10
I decided to just try spraying Vallejo chrome for the trim and window surrounds. I didn't use any other black paint, just gloss varnish over the primer. Tamiya masking tape was applied and then masking putty filled in the gaps and was used to improve fit around some curves.

Album image #11
Black primer applied. I missed a mould line on the froñt wings, so this was attended to.

Album image #12
The bodyshell was cleanly moulded and had a high gloss finish. There were some fine mould lines so these were removed and the surface wet sanded, ready for priming.
