Harrier GR3
Falklands veteran Harrier. I was a student in '82 and still remember the BBC reporter who did not want to detail how many planes were in action but confirmed, "I counted them all out, and I counted them all back in again".
The real thing I photographed in Hendon in 2017. I didn't realise that I'd chosen markings for this particular aircraft until after the model was completed!
I wanted to give this plane the washed-out appearance i'd seen in some 'photos. It was an RAF plane and never intended for deployment from a carrier. The weather during the conflict was very wet and the Harriers spent a lot of time either on deck or flying low over the sea.
