Digging this "big girls" project of yours. But then I've always loved big cars.

Made a little progress on this one. Deflashed the chassis and sorted out which HP tripower 421 it and her sisters are getting. Worked on the artwork for the 421 emblems.

Chassis and engines painted today. Have to wait for them to cure.

Scripts and emblems BMF'd before paint. Body is now in primer. Re-revealed emblems and scripts.

This one has decent chrome on the bumpers. Did a little detailing on them.
Body is painted. Testors bottle Arctic Blur metallic thinned with lacquer thinner.
The roof is so nice, it is making me shy away from doing the vinyl top.

So you've had a painting day. Did a good job on all of them. Nice!

Christian, Yes, The gloss on all 4 turned out fantastic. It is all the random dust bits that suck. Amazingly, the thinned bottle paint is curing faster than the decanted spray paint. The good thing is, with 4 builds, I have lots to do without touching them.

Cut front seats free and modified bases

Erased (sanded and scraped) lightly imprinted window cranks on all 4 interiors. Began fabricating window cranks from some craft store items. I used some square Evergreen rod. What I think would work better would be some flat toothpicks.

Fabricated consoles got painted "Chrome" today. Came out acceptable for scratch made. Collated and bagged all the engine pieces for all 4 builds. Saw that the kit air cleaners are too little and wrong type. Modified some parts box air cleaners and fabricated the twin "snorkels" for them from aluminum tubing. They will be the toppers for the two 356HP 421 CID engines.

Those are looking sweet. Love those twin snorkel air cleaners.

I would have never known but I have done a lot of research on these builds.

Your build is the reason I now know. Hadn't seen them before but I think they look cool!

I have been making progress on my Pontiacs. I just have not been posting. I made some vanity plates and applied the decals to the aluminum. Clear coat tomorrow and maybe cut the next day if I get my sheetmetal cutters back from my daughter-in-law.

I now have the interior complete. Performed same mods as the 65 Bonneville except for photoetch power window switches instead of window cranks.

This interior looks fantastic, as usual, Bill. Glad to see the photos.

This one is now done. Introducing SAPPHIRE, a 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 376HP 421, Tri-Power, and a 4-speed. She is painted with a custom mix of Testors bottled enamel metallic blue and has a, factory optional, slate interior. The console was scratch built and photoetched power window switches were installed. It is the luxury version of a Pontiac after all.

Comments welcome.

You're welcome Bill👍
An.interesting bit of Poncho folklore……when the first GTO's were dispatched to the motoring press, to make sure the cars ran the desired numbers some were equipped with tri-power super duty 421's in place of the original 389's

Bill Newcomer
Yes, I knew that. I have been a Pontiac man for over 40 years.

Everytime I see Bonneville, I always think of Triumph.
But that's a damn classy motor, Bill!
The colour really suits the car.
HNY fellas, the flowing of beer has finally stopped in Castle Boz 😉

Honestly Bozzer, 🤦🏻‍♂️ Triumph stole the name from OUR salt flats. 🤣🤣🤣

Gotta admit, Munky mate, I downed a few, watching Luke Littler tonight. Shame the kid didn't make it, but that's a nice deposit for a mortgage? ( Or several Blue Wickeds 😛 )
