The left rail has been cleaned and filed straight. The right rail is directly from the box. Note how the unfinished rail does not sit level on the blocks, this will certainly affect the overall outcome of the build.

Those are "1-2-3" machinist blocks. You can find them anywhere machine tools are sold or, like me, get them from Amazon.
