beginning work on the main gear bays
.020" solder and wire to simulate piping

these bumps have to be removed for a CF 18 A
One bump removed completely but sink marks showed up
CA'd sink marks
gloss white latex paint poured into the pipes and left to set
sanded through the back of the plastic to make the vents see through
hollowed out the gun vents
fitting out parts for forward fuselage
wings attached to upper half
not following instructions, attaching side panels to lower half to avoid those fit issues in this area
the one issue, a mismatch of my own doing, fixed with a shim of .010 sheet
Some of the Vallejo colors being used for the gray's
Bottom, light gray on
Top medium gray
Tamiya orange and yellow (custom mixed)
I cut out paper scans of the decals and used them as stencils (wet to stick them in place) then shot paint right over the paper
painting in progress
masks removed, touch needed but not too bad
this bug has blue eyes
most (except the inevitable touch up) painting is done, back to construction for a while
decal work finally begins
fitted the intakes and landing gear...finally
masking for alclad on the pipes
Finally adding the aircraft shaped bits
flaps on with decals added
I goofed, I forgot to paint the gunship gray on the ailerons, all fixed now but kinda hairy masking and painting over decals

I forgot to add...Black box "A" cockpit and tail for the conversion, Eduard photo-etch, some Lion Roar bits n pieces, Leading Edge decals for the 20 years Hornets colour bird version and whiskey to work up the nerve...

Chris ParsonsHi Logan! Sorry but I've dropped out of the club, I haven't been keeping up with them at all. This was a project to help get me through winter...I thought it would take longer.
Patrick, yup! I've gone through a bit of whiskey on the detailing...the decals are frankly scaring the bijeebers outa me so I'm going to try masking and painting some of the art on it...hold my drink and watch this! Hahaha
