Felix Kronlageyeah, I've added this kit to my basket when ordering other stuff quite some time ago. It is a nice and fairly modern model building kit, hardly anything to fix.

Felix KronlageIndeed, another idea I had was to find some sort of deep sea animal and arrange that within a diorama. I've never tried myself at a diorama, so that will become an interesting exercise.

Felix KronlageAs one can see from the latest photos I've had a slight 'accident' with the hull😉 When I attached both hull parts to one another there was a giant gap. This was the first time I really tried fixing such a gap with putty and did some beginners mistakes - ending in a filled gap yet with tons of putty all around😉

Scott HastingsTry putting some tape on either side of the gap before applying the putty....it will isolate the area and you will have less go elsewhere. You can do the same now to protect your surface detail like rivets etc while sanding off the excess putty. I would suggest Tamiya tape but others will work. Good luck

Scott HastingsYou don't want to put deep scratches in the plastic or it wil be hard to get them smooth. So nothing coarse. Maybe start 600 grit and see how that goes move up or down if needed. I use UMP skinny sticks and love them, but there are lots of other brands..umpretail.com/collec..ny-sticks-multi-pack

Scott HastingsYes indeed and there are so many little tricks and different products. You don't need to spend a fortune, just apply proper technique.
