On 12th September 2015 the 3rd International Small Scale Convention was held in Westmünsterlandhalle in Heiden Germany. My German Gamblers shipmates and I attend with our new club stand at the show.

Approx. 300 meters of tables full with scale models in scale 1/72 and downwards and some traders who sales useful modeling stuff made good framework conditions for a nice day with like mind persons. A small but high level completion area with a lot of very nice displays round off a successful show. Interesting chats with visitors, our IG Waterline / Modellmarine shipmates and other mates and a lot of inspiration complete the day.

A special thank goes to our UK shipmate Don McKeand and his wife Mary for coming along the long way from the UK to attend to the show with a nice display full of small scale ship models.

I have always been an admirer of the Euro modelling fraternity and the subject matter embraced. Thank you so much Christian for such a wonderful series of images of just how talented your peers are.
Truly inspirational in every way. 🙂
I see what you had on display, but you didn't mention your own work and how you went, or what you submitted mate. :-/
Thanks again. 🙂

Thank you all for looking at it. It was a pleasure to share it with you. Would be fine to see some of you there next year🙂

@Kerry, I got a bronze for my scale 1/144 R.A.F. SE5a, a silver for my DDR539 USS Wagner (semi scratch from a PitRoad kit), gold for a scale 1/285 AVF diorama and gold for my Kilo Class Sub in Drydock.

I had some more models at our stand display. Ships, U Hai in scale 1/144, HMS Peacock, HMS Trafalger, MTB 794 all 1/350, Knox Class Frigate in 1/700. Aero planes all 1/144, Tigercat, Nieuport 11, MiG21 MF and SMT, and finally two more small scale 1/285 dioramas. My mates Frank and

Dirk attend with one model each to the competition and got a bronze and a silver for their HMS Iron Duke and Gearing Class Destroyer in a harbor scene. We together had some more scale 1/144 and scale 1/350 at our display. Most attractive Dirks O.H. Perry Class frigate passing a bridge – photo no. 63 and on photo no. 70 the diorama on the right side of our stand.

Cheers, Christian

Beautiful dios. THX a lot for sharing. Were there any in 1/35?

Christian Bruer
Your're welcome Rui, and nope nothing in scale 1/35. All models are 1/72 and smaller. The ISSC is a special show for scale modeling 1/72 and downwards. For example, one of my AVF dioramas was in scale 1/285🙂
