So far, so good. Fit was very good, with very little cleanup to do. The vinyl tracks aren't too bad either. I will use them, but not the vinyl tow chains that came with it.

Okay here goes with the hairspray technique I've read so much about. After a gloss coat I sprayed liberally with some hairspray and left it to dry. Then I gave a coat of white acrylic, making sure to make a messy job of it as though it was done in the field.

Hmmm, not terrible but not quite the effect I wanted. I worked on small areas at a time, letting water sit for a minute to soften the hairspray then rubbed with a fairly hard brush. In hindsight a toothpick might have given a more subtle effect.

I use Humbrol mainly, sometimes Vallejo. Maybe I'll experiment some more with old models.

So, my experiment with the hairspray technique is finished. Not as succesful as I hoped but I'll definitely try it again. I also gave Woodland Scenics Snow a try and I think it looks pretty good.
