P51-Mustang (Pride of the Blue Grass) - DONE

What a beautiful aircraft this P51 is,...dry fit prio painting. 

Masked - ready for airbrushing 

It doesn't look like a common practice, but I have seen some pictures that would indicate the use of aready jettisoned drop tanks,... they looked quite "refurbished", different colors, quite some scratches and dimples,....I liked the idea - so one of my drop tanks on this bird will be a "used" one. 

Metalizing the craft,....I do not have much experience on AlClad... 

...therefore I am quite okay with the outcome of this paint job. 

Masking for anti-glare and squadron markings,.... 

Ready for decals,... 

"Ahrrg"- moment number #1 one on this kit - too much decal softener und a wrong movement,....need recovery here. 

Right after finishing the decals, there was my
"Ahrrg"- moment number #2 one on this kit - damn: why I do not notice such things in advance? Reconnaissance squadron - this bird was carrying cameras,....need to add the camera bulges on the fuselage.  

...okay - my new camera bulges just emerged....
