Some pictures of the completed model. I made the following changes to the basic model:
-Scratched a simple cockpit.
-Scratched some new gear legs, wrapping bent copper rod with milliput and sanding to shape.
-Made a new radiator housing appropriate for this version.
-Skipped the collimator as it can´t really be seen in the few photos of the real subject that I found.
-Rigged it with Uschi fine riggin thread.
-Recontoured the spinner, removing the adaptor for the Hucks engine starter, which this version did not have.
It is painted as "4-1", which was seen in camouflage dress. I only found a single photograph of the real thing...
I chickened out on modifying the exhaust stack arrangement, which was somewhat different on the Spanish Furies.
I really enjoyed building this one. I was surprised with the kit, it was really good, and nothing less than 50 years old...
Fully brush painted with Vallejo, one of my first forays trying that, and I'm pleased with the result. I used some retarder for the dry-brushed green squiggles, which came out rather good. No decals other than the roundels, wich were post-1939 roundels from Series Españolas, with the inner circle appropriately overpainted.
