Ben MThis one's going to be a rough ride. Blobs of resin that resemble airplane parts if you saw and sand on them a lot. This is my 2nd attempt at a resin kit, let's see how it goes!

Ben MInserted brass pins to hold parts together and started to trim the vacform canopy. They only included one in the kit, and I'm terrible at trimming them.

Ben MI also cut the ailerons free so I could pose them. I didn't do the elevators or rudder as I'm not sure how to deal with the little doglegs

Ben MMy references disagree on whether the rear cockpit seat faced forward and it was a two seat trainer or rearward with a rear mounted machine gun that the second crewman manned while standing. I decided on the second interpretation.

Robert PodkońskiFantastic work so far, Ben! What kind of putty you use? I usually take two-component automotive putty for resin kits, but it is quite troublesome (and smells horribly...)

Ben MI just use perfect plastic putty. I know it's not supposed to stick to resin or whatever but it's always worked for me. I think I will try to re-scribe the wings, a first for me. The sanding I've had to do to fill pinholes and flaws in the molding has erased almost all detail on them.

Ben MPainted the cockpit interior base color, re-scribed panel lines, added some details and did some pre-shading.

Ben MI left out the part about the black primer paint disaster and then the exploding white paint in my airbrush and having to repaint the cockpit. I'm still not sure at all how to make the landing gear. This one has been a challenge.

Ben MI had leftover orange rudder decals from my Fokker d.xxi that were about the right size but wrong shape. I put tape on the rudder and trimmed around it with a knife. Then I drew an inset smaller rudder shape on the tape and trimmed it down. Then I put the tape on the back of the rudder decals and trimmed them. Then I painted the rudder black and applied the decals in the center to get the black border. As you can see I didn't get the shape quite right but I like the approach and I think the result is better than if I'd applied the decal and tried to paint a black border around it. My friend Marc suggested it.

Bruce HuxtableI think the black border round the decal looks fine - the curve is neat, so looks deliberate. It looks like you're having fun trying out new skills 🙂

Ben MThanks guys! Calling it done maybe. I'll do any last minute changes and take some pictures, weather permitting. Everything on the kit and my workmanship are both slightly non symmetrical but it was fun and my 2nd resin kit is done!
