Neubaufahrzeug 42 - what if
in Warhammer 40k style

The Neubaufahrzeug has fascinated me since I was a young boy. Partly because of its unique appearance, and partly because of its fascinating story. At the same time, the aesthetics of Warhammer 40,000 have always appealed to me. Fortunately, I never started collecting, painting, or even playing with the figures (simply because they're ridiculously expensive). Even when I first saw the Neubaufahrzeug, I thought it was destined for that kind of look. I, too, always wondered how the vehicle would have developed if it had been further developed and improved, like the Panzer III or Panzer IV. I also imagined a new "what if" faction for its use: the Teutonic Order. Of course, that's all complete nonsense, but wouldn't they be ideal for freeing the poor Christians from the grip of the heretical Soviet Union? ;D

Even 20 years later, this idea was still in my head, and when I build the Neubaufahrzeug No. 5 from Trumpeter, it flared up again. A Neubaufahrzeug with a Panzer IV turret (like in the Paint drawing from my youth) would have been easy, but the track on the new Trumpeter vehicle completely put me off. I definitely didn't want to build that again. Besides, I wanted more... As a design engineer, I work with CAD programs every day, and when I got an FDM 3D printer at the age of 40, there was no hesitation...
