'70 Chevelle SS 454 LS-6

A long planned project is finally finished! The idea comes from the magazine Scale Auto's author and expert Tim Boyd. The body mold is clean and crisp without really visible imperfections in the plastic, matching the factory paint forest green metallic with saddle tan interior. With only minor seam lines, I decided to polish the body before applying BMF to the window surrounds. Other chrome accents, like the wheel wells, door handles and locks, as well as on the interior were realized with Molotow chrome pens. A little touch added to the interior, are visible door lock buttons. The wheels, grille/bumper unit and the rear bumper were detailed as per the reference pics of the 1:1 car. The over-simplified chassis I detailed as good as I could. Finally, a comparison of the Revell 70 Chevelle Baldwin Motion (1:24) and this curbside kit (1:25) shows some surprising differences: The front grille/bumper unit (correct position seeing from the side!), the wheel wells (front and rear), front side marker lights and even the last quarter of the roof down to the trunk are much better representations of the 1:1 as the 1:24th kit (as Tim Boyd mentioned in his build review). All in all, a quick and pleasant build of a stunning muscle car!
