E-2C Hawkeye 2000 - Kinetic 1/48
Reinforcement with some sheet to prevent cracks by the front weight,
Milled with my little Proxxon: Antenna fins in brass
The cockpit with the Eduard zoom. You can see nealry nothing on the finished model, so I took the quick way.
Weight in every room.
Base paint is Tamiya XF-69, nato black.
Preshading with matt white.
Masking the black sections
Masking the walkways. The kit decals have a strange colour and a wrong shape.
Keep on masking...
Lycra rigging for the antenna wire
The rudders are cut off and placed in angled position,
The kit wipers were eaten by the carpet monster, so I made new ones with some Evergreen profiles,
The metal parts are not very good, but I had no choise with all the lead inside.

E-2c with some aftermarket an a lot of weight. I choosed the unfolded wings cause it shows the unusual shape of this bird. The build was quite time consuming. You need a lot of putty and sanding although the fit wasn't too bad. To keep it safely standing on the landing gears I added 120g of lead into the front section.
