Peenemünde 2020
Pancake Tour provided by local ship company Adler
Juliett-class museum-sub stored in the harbour
The famous German "Energiewende" got here as well 😉
Tarantul-class museum ship
On board of the Tarantul corvette
Demilitarisation, the German way 😄
The fate of all ex-GDR Tarantul boats.
Unfortunately I didn't know the exact location and availability of the Hiddensee.
Too bad as I drove around Fall River, MA last summer 🙁

Famous power plant seen from the harbour, the last moreless intact building of the test site.
Airfield entrance
The ex-JG-9 airfield itself. Yup, there's Baltic sea on the other end.

V1...
... and its launchpad.
V2 replica
And a train used to transfer German workers between the site and town of Karlshagen nearby.
A memorial remembering the group of Soviet POWs, who hijacked He-111 from Peenemünde to escape back to the Red Army.
That's a cool story, never heard of it before!

The power plant provides a sightseeing platform on the roof.

Very interesting photos Lukasz. I hadn't heard about the Soviet POW either. Just found a Wiki entry that explains it:

I saw this site in several documentaries related to the German missile program and knew that not much survived. Still nice to see photos taken by someone who was there, so thank you. I was not aware of the escape either. Cheers 👍

Cool holiday! Give me a call someday if you want to do the airfields of Lincolnshire/East Anglia.

Why not? But I have to wait for the end of the bat plague, so they don't lock me up on the way back home😉
