2019: the 800 years anniversary of the Danish National flag.
According to the legend the Danes were losing the battle at Lyndanisse (near present day Tallinn, Estonia) June 15th 1219. The bishop was praying to God (the invasion was classified and Papal approved as a Crusade) to allow aid them and every time he let his arms down the battle turned bad; in the end people were assigned to hold up the bishop's arms to avoid them dropping. Then it happened: A flag fell down from the sky; red with a white cross - this must have been a sign from God Almighty Himself, and the soldiers felt renewed strength and won the battle.
Since then Dannebrog have been the Danish national flag and haven't been changed during the time, leaving it to be possibly the oldest continuously used national flag in the world.
In 2019 it was the 800th anniversary which were celebrated both in Denmark - and with our now allies in Estonia.
One way to celebrate was to paint an F-16 into the Danish flag and fly around to.... show the flag.
It have been used several times after this during celebrations.
