After filling the light chips with darker ones, I kind of went overboard and finished the model, at least I think that I've finished it. What do you think?
Weathering was done with acrylics and some oil color grime streaks. Starting with airbrushing Tamiya Buff, some acrylic washes followed. I removed dust from high traffic areas with a q-tip and Vallejo airbrush thinner. Sprinkles in different colors followed then.
Afterwards, I was able to complete the running gear. The tracks looks quite nice to my eye, although single links would have been better. I glued the tracks to the three middle road wheels for the correct sag.
Finishing touches were painting all the details, tools and the search light. Unfortunately, I lost the clear glass to the carpet monster, so this has to be counted as battle damage.
I refrained from adding rust, since phots I found of the vehicles showed it in great condition. Actually, "HELA" was a command tank in the Polish Division, so it should not have the 75mm but a dummy. D'uh!
However, for my first project after a really long break, I really enjoyed the process and love the result. Looking forward to painting the crewman next.
